And to all organizers of the congressional briefing held at the US Capitol for providing the opportunity to convey the suffering of the Alawite community and other religious minorities in Syria.
The briefing was held under the title "Defending Freedom", sponsored by Congressman Marlin Stutzman, and focused on the humanitarian and security deterioration in Syria, as well as ways to protect religious minorities from systematic violence and extremism.
The Western Syria Alliance emphasized that jihadist ideology poses a cross-border threat, and that protecting minorities is a fundamental pillar for preserving Syria's social fabric and ensuring regional and international stability.
During the briefing, a verbal message from Sheikh Ghazal Ghazal was conveyed to Congressman Marlin Stutzman, expressing appreciation for the congressman's continued commitment following their meeting in July 2025 — a meeting coordinated by the Western Syria Alliance.
The message was delivered through the Alliance by , Vice President of the Western Syria Alliance, reflecting Congressman Stutzman's seriousness and his sustained engagement with the concerns of all Syrian communities without exception.
The briefing concluded with an affirmation that coordinated international action is the only path to ensuring protection and achieving justice for all Syrians without exception.
